Mitsubishi Outlander Review

If you’re in the market for a new crossover, the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander is one vehicle you’ll want to consider. This vehicle is hard to beat with an impressive list of features and a price tag that’s sure to please. Keep reading for more information on what makes the Outlander so unique.

Mitsubishi’s Outlander SUV was last redesigned for the 2014 model year, and it shows.

Though it’s still a decent value and offers a third-row seat, the Outlander is starting to feel its age in several ways. Its cabin isn’t as stylish as newer rivals, and its infotainment system is decidedly low-tech.

Engine and fuel capacity

The Outlander’s engine isn’t particularly powerful or fuel-efficient, and the SUV has unimpressive handling and a jarring ride. If you’re looking for a 7-passenger SUV, better choices are available.

Mitsubishi did give Outlander a significant refresh for the 2018 model year, so if you’re considering a used Mitsubishi Outlander, make sure it’s from 2018 or later.

The Outlander comes with a standard 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 166 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is the only gearbox offered.

The base four-cylinder engine is adequate but unimpressive. It’s slow to accelerate and doesn’t provide much passing power. The CVT does an excellent job of simulating traditional gears, but it doesn’t make the Outlander any quicker.

The fuel economy is about average for the class. The Outlander is EPA-rated at 25 mpg combined (22 city/29 highway).

Handling is a weak point for Outlander. The SUV feels heavy and sluggish when cornering, and its body leans noticeably in turns.

The Outlander’s ride quality is another downside. Bumps and expansion joints in the road are felt throughout the cabin, and the SUV can get bouncy on highway stretches.

The Outlander’s cabin isn’t as upscale as some rivals, but it’s attractive enough. The material quality is about average for the class, and the design is straightforward.

Driver assistance features

  • Stay safe on the road with a variety of driver assistance features
  • The Rearview camera and rear parking sensors make it easy to park
  • Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert help you avoid accidents
  • A front and rear collision warning system can provide an early warning if an accident is about to occur
  • Pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking can help protect you in case of a collision
  • Lane departure warnings and automatic high-beam headlights also help you stay safe on the road

Mitsubsihi Outlander infotainment, bluetooth, and navigation

Standard features include a 6.1-inch touch-screen infotainment system, four speakers, a USB port, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, HD Radio, additional USB ports, an upgraded 8-inch touch screen, navigation, six or seven speakers, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The infotainment system’s graphics look dated, and its menus can be confusing to navigate. The touch screen is small, and the physical buttons below it are poorly organized.

For connecting smartphones, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered. These programs allow you to use many of your phone’s apps.

Outlander cargo space

With its spaciousness, the Outlander is an excellent choice for those who need to carry around plenty of cargo. It has 11 cubic feet behind third-row seats and 33 when both rows are folded! That’s more than any other compact SUV, including Honda CRV or Subaru Forester. A manual liftgate comes standard (and an optional hands-free power version), which means you won’t have trouble getting your groceries onto the back seat without spilling anything along their way down into the storage area underneath, where they live comfortably waiting until needed again later on down these roads less travelled by others but not us locals since we know all too well about these great SUV vehicles like the Outlander and its capabilities.

So, if you’re looking for a vehicle that can provide plenty of space for your cargo needs, the Outlander is a great choice!

Outlander gas mileage

The Outlander is a fantastic gas miser! With an EPA-rated 24 mpg in the city and 31 on Highway, it’s not hard to see why this compact SUV gets an excellent gas economy. All-wheel drive will only reduce your highway rating by 1mpg, so if you’re looking for more fuel efficiency, consider getting front-wheel drives instead of ALL WHEEL (but trust us; every ounce counts).

Outlander ride and handling

The 2022 Outlander is a comfortable and elegant SUV that handles nicely on rough roads but isn’t meant for more adventurous terrain. It offers 8 inches of ground clearance with traction control options to help you tackle snowy streets or broken pavement should the need arise – though most buyers will be fine driving their new car around town instead!

Outlander dimensions and weight

The Mitsubishi Outlander dimensions are pretty impressive. It’s 15.5 feet long, and its curb weight ranges from 3,593 to 3,803 pounds. That’s a lot of cars! And it’s not just a big car – it’s a powerful one too. The Outlander has a V6 engine that delivers an impressive 224 horsepower. Plus, it has an all-wheel drive to take on any terrain or weather conditions. Whether you’re going off-road or stuck in a snowstorm, the Outlander will get you through it. So if you’re looking for a vehicle that can handle anything and everything, the Outlander is a perfect choice.

Mitsubishi outlander cost

If you’re in the market for a new SUV, you might wonder how much the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander will cost. The good news is that the starting price for this vehicle is just $25,795. That’s about average for the SUV market, so you won’t have to break the bank to get your hands on this vehicle.

Of course, if you want all the bells and whistles, you can expect to pay more. But even at its highest trim level, the Outlander still comes in at under $35,000. So no matter what your budget is, there’s likely an Outlander that will fit your needs.

Mitsubishi has always been known for offering great value, and Outlander is no different. Its affordable price tag and a long list of features make it easy to see why this SUV is so popular. The Outlander is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a vehicle that won’t break the bank but still offers plenty of features and space.

The all-new Mitsubishi Outlander is coming in 2023, and it looks like it will be a force to be reckoned with. With an updated design, more powerful engine options, and new features, the Outlander is sure to please both old and new fans of the Mitsubishi brand. So mark your calendars for 2023—the year of the Mitsubishi Outlander!
